the road is home
I have just found this photographer Nirrimi Firebrace's beautiful work. The images are so lovely and she has a gorgeous blog of her life and adventures with her partner who is also a photographer and her daughter. It is worth a look and quite inspiring not to mention she is just 20 years old but she has been taking photos like these since she was 14. Wow

Turning Two
My youngest son turned two and was so super excited it was his birthday. We gave him a scooter which he loves, and I made him a super deluxe cardboard kitchen with three modular parts. A stove with turning knobs, a fridge with freezer and fridge section and a sink with cupboards under neath. He loved it and straight away made us all coffee and sausages for breakfast.

I've been through the desert like an egg with no shell..
We found an egg with no shell in the hen house and I have to say its freaked me out a little. It was the strangest feeling seeing something so familiar feel so different. You could see the yolk through the membrane when you held it up to the light. It feels like some voodoo omen or something....what does it mean?

Frozen
Agh its winter here and it sucks. We are on our fifth week of asthma/croup crap-a-thon with children waking every 20 minutes literally all night with the most full on cough, poor things. This photo from Mount Royal Mint made me think maybe its not all so bad in the tundra, these animals are very sweet, I like their expressions.

Pet Dinosaurs
There is a massive demolition of an old tannery going on behind our house as the entire street on both sides is levelled to make way for apartments. It is literally shaking the house and my nerves, but I have to say there is something quite magical about having two pet dinosaurs in the back yard.
