abstract ice sculpture

On Friday in our Art and Science class we explored the way the melting properties of ice is affected by the introduction of a solute. It was fun messy and chaotic and is a great activity for the hot months of Summer.

My 3 yo daughter made these today. She was fascinated and added salt flakes, rock salt and table salt and food colouring (and then a paint brush and watercolours) for almost an hour.

Thanks for posting such original activities.
