Continuing my predilection for folk music, we have been listening to Angel Olsen on high rotation in our home at the moment. Have a listen she has a gorgeous voice. Asap Rocky is also getting a good look in to although the two couldn't be more different, or could they?

Walter Martin
A long time ago in another time and place a friend of mine called Walter Martin was in a great rock and roll band. He now also makes wonderful music for everybody, including children, to enjoy and in our house we are doing just that. I am waiting for four copies to arrive in the mail and will be handing them out so everyone near by can have a little bit of this sunshine in their life. You can have a free listen here.

Valentine
It is corny I know but I really like Valentines day. Here is a little painting I made for my boyfriend inspired by listening to his Radio shows on RRR FM. He and his friend filled in over the summer and did a fantastic show all about music being made outside of the cities and centres in small obscure places all over the world. They uncovered some very beautiful things including this one which I can't stop listening to. On one of the nights they told this wonderful story about exploring this tiny village in Italy via google maps and seeing some graffiti on the wall which when translated is what is in the painting. The fill in is on from the last week of December for four weeks on Tuesday nights 12-2 am under the show name O Tomorrow, have a listen its great the story about the italian graffiti is at the 1 hour mark.

Live to Air
Last night my boyfriend and I went to RRR, our local community radio station and saw the most amazing band, ESG, play live to Air. It was fantastic. Self taught musicians playing such minimal electro/ disco/ punk/ funk music. It felt like they were all a button on an MPC each with their function but so much more than the machine could ever be. I won't wax lyrical as I don't really know what I am taking about but go see them if you can or listen to the live to air here. You may hear us clapping!

pure

Damn I think this is the best song ever, right now. It makes me all swirly and romantic and inspired and gives me crazy flashbacks but I can't put my finger on what they are of. And he can put on red lipstick better than I can even though I have been taking lessons from the professional.
