my web site

Well its been a long time coming. In fact I have been paying for the domain name for a good five years and although I have some computer skills the thought of code and scripts sent me spinning. So a few weeks ago I decided to just get started and of course things have progressed a lot in the last five years and it was a lot easier than I though. So here it is. A website of some of the things I have done and some of the things I do. It is quite a nice feeling to see it all together rather than scattered across my hard drive.  There may be a rogue apostrophe or two but you get the the idea. Let me know if you find any....

sunbird

I went away last weekend just me and my friend. She worked on her thesis and I painted and painted. We climbed over hills topped with boulders, saw a wombat, a scorpion and kangaroos. It was wonderful. Here is a sun bird I painted up there in Ned Kelly country. It is from Northern Australia I think so is not drawn from life.

Paul Williams

Negative, space, Australian bush land, dark and stormy landscapes, I love this series of work by Paul Williams. It looks like a Nick Cave song hung on a wall. Maybe I may just go to Mr Kitly and get one to hang on my wall.

Osamu Yokonami

These photographs by Osamu Yakonami are so dreamy and I just love the open ended narrative they create. I recommend looking thorough his body of  work for other wonderful  series like this one entitled 100 children.

You can also buy his work here

webs we weave

I have spent this week learning how to make a portfolio website and it wasn't nearly as hard as I had imagined. It has been fun looking back over all the different things I have done and bringing them together. I will have it up and running properly in the next few days so stay tuned!

melinda josie

I am in the middle of getting a large water colour project off the ground and this work by Toronto based illustrator and artist Melinda Josie has set the bar high. She also has a blog where you can see a bit more about her process and what she has been up to.
I had better go get busy I think I have some practising to do.
