Diane Cluck
I seem to be back on a folk music kick at the moment. I guess it ties into my love of all things narrative. I just rediscovered a mid 90's favourite Diane Cluck and am pretty happy about it. These are some of here drawings as well.
And while we are back in the 90's I have been loving re listening to this melancholy number by Simon Joyner as well. I still have it on cassette somewhere packed away in a cardboard box no doubt.

slight change of plans
Well January has taken a rather busy turn for me unexpectedly. I have got a short intense and exciting job that goes until the 4th of February, combined with the house move and my boyfriend heading to Germany for a week and kinder not starting yet I am going to have to postpone the start of class until the Friday the 7th of February. I hope that suits everyone and sorry to be flip flop around, I want to fully focus on the classes once they start. Have fun until then!

David Easterly
Until the art classes begin and the dust settles on this move I am going to be a bit sporadic with my posts. I will get back in to the rhythem of three posts a week as we progress through February. Easy does it as they say but in the meantime...I stumbled across these intricate lime wood carvings by David Easterly through Elsa Mora's Blog which catalogues a huge range of interesting work by adults and children. It is hard to believe these are all carved in wood.

ice painting
We are in the middle of a heat wave here and it is so so hot and today my son came up with a rather brilliant project that keeps you cool and occupied as well. It is a slight variation on yesterdays hot day activity called "ice bergs" where we used the same bowls of ice and skated plastic animals on them and then submerged them under it once it had melted enough... this one was slightly more interesting
turn this...
into this...
with these ice painting instructions...

New Year
Well it may be half way through January already but it still feels like the New Year has just begun. We have had a great Summer so far, lots of fun and adventures and relaxing and a ton of packing boxes as we gear up to move next weekend, and this next week looks like it is going to be a scorcher which will be interesting.
As far as the Art Classes go this year I am going to have to change the day around to fit in with my children's kinder. This year classes will be held on Fridays from 10am - 12pm beginning on Friday the 24th of January.
I am aiming to expand them out on Thursday morning as well eventually, but just need to get my son settled into Kinder first, and unpack my studio and our lives at the new place. I will be back online so send me an email if you have any questions. Happy New Year and can't wait to get it all going.
